That benchmark was proven flawed in this forum post so I don’t think it’s worth considering for performance.
I second RX14’s suggestion of a separate type, largely because the chances of people/business working with such large arrays is so uncommon that it could probably be implemented as a shard, compared to the String limit which is surprisingly more common.
