Let's hack together at OpenSource Global Hack Week!

It’s an established fact that we in the Crystal language community are kind of obsessed with high-performance software. While Crystal does a pretty good job of helping you write extremely fast applications which run on minimal resources, there’s limits to the scalability that any language can let you reach when it comes to distributed systems. At some point (probably quite early indeed), you need to turn to your system’s architecture design to ensure you can sustain high and unpredictable loads.

Is there a way to join the LavinMQ slack without using Google or Apple? The only other option seems to require an @84codes.com address:

Don’t have an @84codes.com email address?
Contact the workspace administrator at LavinMQ for an invitation.

Hmm thats weird! I can log in with my personal hotmail account here, then i got a code sent to my email and i could log in.

Maybe I’ts “smart” and knows that I am already logged into the 84codes workspace, but from what I can tell we have members with all types of domains!
I can send you an invite though, if you send me your email!

Yea, I tried that and the email I got said:

It looks like there isn’t an account on LavinMQ tied to this email address.

Might want to figure this out, otherwise no one is really going to easily be able to join the slack for the event. I’ll DM you my email tho, thanks!

The slack link on Community - LavinMQ has a button “Continue with Email”: Slack

And this works for any address.

Ah yea seems that one is set to a public invite link, whereas the one at the bottom of the announcement post (which was what I was using) is not, so requires a pre-configured email/account.
