I came across information on this new algorithm being used for Ruby.
I pass it along as it may be useful in the management of Shards, et al, for Crystal.

Molinillo is serving well so far. But definitely PubGrub would be a good contender for its replacement. The most appealing feature is description of errors IMO. Since bundler migrated from molinillo to pubgrub I expect that once a port is available for Crystal, the transition should be easy. Yet, nothing is broken that I’m aware 
, so no rush.

I did run into Unable to resolve dependency with pre-release version · Issue #572 · crystal-lang/shards · GitHub and am pretty sure its a Molinillo bug. But on its own deff not a reason to rush to migrate.
