Invitation to talk about Crystal at a geeky meetup in Buenos Aires

Hi everybody.

I’m part of a tech community in Buenos Aires, and we use to invite people to talk, in a rather informal but pretty technical way, about technology and development stuff. I think it would be great if someone from the Crystal Team could be interested in giving a talk about this awesome project.

These are the past events: so you can have an idea of the kind of topics we are interested in.

You can join here: and you can get in touch with us on twitter ( and slack (

There are a couple of events already scheduled, but the organizers tell me that it would be ok to do it on the first-second week of august.

Request sent!

FYI there is a local even happening next week check if you are interested.

Great, I reopen this thread. We are thinking about organizing a new meetup next Thursday 15th august, somewhere near palermo neighborhood.

If you think you can arrange things to participate on that date just contact me or @NardozBA in twitter, or send your proposal to

It would be really great if you make it for that date. I think the work you are doing is really marvellous.

Thanks @opensas for the bump! I’m organising a meetup for August 15th in Palermo, Buenos Aires. I’d love to have you guys give a presentation! Feel free to ping me at gvilarino [at] gmail [dot] com

Thanks in advance :)

I love the initiative and we do need more local (buenos aires) events :-) . Unfortunately, this time is impossible to me to participate but keep posting until our agendas match!

@bcardiff do you think you can make it mid september? About September 19th

Probably! They only happen on Thursday, right? I would need to ask my dance partner to give the class alone, but it should be doable.

Yeah, Thursday is the day as that’s what the venue host can offer us. The talk should be about 30/40 minutes so if you have later/earlier commitments you may be able to shuffle through. The venue is in Núñez, Buenos Aires.

Would it be possible to record the talks and put them on youtube or so?
IMHO it would be good to increase visibility and maybe some folks will stumble over recordings. It’s also nice to have a possibility to reach people who might not be able to come personally.

Imagine if Juan Linietsky and Ary/Brian meet up. If a photo was taken, I think it would be my favourite photo of all time. Argentina really does have some of the most inspirational developers.
